Watch : A focus group of Muslim-Americans spoke with CBS News contributor and Republican strategist Frank Luntz. At one point during the wide-ranging discussion, Luntz asked panelists to describe their opinions of Israel.
Israeli Former Prime Minister Ehud Ulmert and Palestinian President Mahmud Abbas met on September 16 2008 in Jerusalem. After the meeting they were asked to meet with map specialists to reach a final quote for the border between Palestine and Israel. Few days later Abbas asked to postpone the meeting due to another meeting in Aman and said they will meet next week after he returns. The meeting – never occurred again.
Anti-Zionism and anti-semitism is not the same thing. Zionism is a nationalist movement . Anti-semitism is racism against a group of people because of their religion. So there is no connection. Anti-semitism is hating Jews for being Jews. Anti-Zionism is being anti- what the Zionist entity is doing.
The USA, Canada and almost all European countries are opposed to the BDS boycott, and many even have laws prohibiting it.
It is important to know that there is no similarity between the demands regarding marking settlement products and the boycott movement. On the contrary, there is a fundamental difference.
Almost all European countries oppose the boycott, and some even have laws prohibiting it. All they say is that occupied territories are not a part of Israel. They want to encourage cooperation and trade with Israel, as well as maintain joint funds and promote scientific research, but they oppose the Israeli activities in the West Bank.
Gaza has an extremely high unemployment. Between 43% to 80% of the people in Gaza receive humanitarian help of some kind. But there are also many millionaires, middle class families, doctors, artists, students and more. Gaza is very diverse and shows great potential for growth.
In 2006, after Israel disengaged from Gaza, Hamas won most of the seats in local government. A year later Hamas took control on all of Gaza and since then, there has never been elections in Gaza.
On 29 November 1947, the UN recommended to adapt the plan in which the the British Mandate will leave and the country will be divided between Palestinians and Israelis. Following this decision, riots broke out that turned into the War of Independence. Following the war, which lasted for months, a truce had declared and new boundaries were determined. This boundary is called “The Green Line”.
During the second intifada 1030 Israelis died, 70% of which we civilian and 3189 Palestinian died, of which 50% were civilians.
